Important NewsHere is some important news for Kindergarten students:
Classroom ActivitiesThe information shared below is not necessarily all from the current school year. It is a representation of classroom activities that have occurred and can occur in this classroom. We always appreciate parents who come and help us with
projects. Whether it's helping us make cookies, creating
painted Christmas ornaments, or any other helpful
involvement, we love to have parents participate in our education!
Here are some of the great things they've done for us
(Hover over picture for description and click on an image to expand to

An outside group provided a school assembly that gave us a look into how
pioneers lived via activities and displays. Each student
in grades K-2 got to explore and
experience with the help of a 7th/8th grade student.
We enjoy having the 4th graders come in weekly to tutor us. We call
them our "Study
Buddies." Sometimes we
do fun things together (like art); other times they
help us review and practice things we are learning in class.
You can see pictures from our Recycling Assembly. We learned a lot about our planet's resources and how to save them by recycling!
In October we visited a nearby fire
station! We got to tour the station, learn about what firemen do, "drive"
the fire truck, and squirt the fire hose! Click on the images below to
enlarge them into high-quality, photo images.
In October, our class went on a field trip to
a pumpkin patch! We had a great time and each got to
pick out a pumpkin of our own! Click on the images below to view the
high-resolution photo.
We did a unit on stores and businesses.
The final event was a trip to the local Raley's
supermarket. They gave us a fantastic
behind-the-scenes tour!
We won Nimbus Hatchery's lottery and got our own guided
tour of the facilities. We enjoyed seeing the fish jump the ladders and learning
about the salmon that live in the American River.
We went to the Orangevale Library to see how a public library was
organized, to get our own library cards, and check out some books to read.
It was cool! We studied safety procedures during school in September. Our field trip got
postponed but we got to practice what we learned in Safetyville, a
small-scale town that gave us the opportunity to practice
safety skills in a safe environment.
