Field TripsA minimum of 5 field trips per classroom are used to enrich the educational experience of our students. Teachers send notes home with students prior to the field trip with information about the trip (i.e. where, when, cost to parents) and a permission slip. The school is required to have a signed and dated permission slip for each participating student. Positive verbal/creative
interaction among students is encouraged. Videos, TVs, DVDs, electronic games,
etc., are not permitted on field trips, including during transportation. School shirts are required for all field trips. If a student does not have a school shirt for a field trip, he/she must rent one from the school for $4.00.
Drivers are chaperones/supervisors,
helping the teachers maintain proper management of the educational experience. Grades 5 & 6 and 7 & 8 participate in weeklong education trips in the spring. Funding for these are the responsibility of the students and families. However, students have the opportunity to earn the entire amount through school fundraisers.
