Gloria was born July 20, 1939 at Lodi, California. She is the oldest daughter of three girls born to Frances and Leander Rund. She was born at home and her mother still lives in the same house. Gloria started playing the piano at age 6, performed at Sheraton Palace Hotel in San Francisco at age 16. She gave her first piano solo recital in the 6th grade. She played the organ in academy and gave solo recitals her junior and senior years. She played the Rachmaninolf Concerto movement with the 1962 orchestra at Pacific Union College. That same year she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education. She has an extensive piano teaching background (she even maintains a private studio in her home) and has taught at:
She has been the Minister of Music at the Cottage Way Christian Church in Sacramento, California since 1985. She plays piano for churches, graduations, memorials, weddings, and special occasions. Gloria has a rich background in music and it is important to note that she has studied with a wide range of noted pianists and musicians:
Gloria is an active member of the California Music Teachers Association and the American College of Musicians. Gloria maintains a private studio in her home. Gloria married her heartthrob, Louie Yaw, in 1963. They have two children who are their pride and joy:
