Prospective kindergartners are encouraged to attend a visitation day in the spring to meet the teacher and experience what half a day in kindergarten will be like. Entering kindergartners are to be toilet trained, have the ability to sit at a desk for short periods of time, and be able to follow verbal instructions. This program encourages development of social skills, muscular development, and math and language readiness. At the close of the school year, each kindergartner should know the names and sounds of all the letters of the alphabet and understand counting numbers. Books are available, and time is allotted, for students who are physically and emotionally ready to read. A warm family-like atmosphere exists with ongoing training in spiritual and moral issues. A more extensive list of kindergarten
requirements may be obtained through the school office of the kindergarten
teacher. |
