Home > Handbook > Health Topics > Health Requirements Health RequirementsUnless exempted by medical reasons or personal beliefs, no child will be admitted to any classroom without having received all immunizations required by California law: polio, DPT (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis), MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), and varicella (except with verification that the student has had chickenpox). Hepatitis B vaccination is required for all incoming kindergarten, new first grade, and seventh grade students. Seventh-grade students may also be required to receive the second dose of measles vaccine. Verification of these immunizations by a physician or public health official must be in our office BEFORE the first day of school. Kindergarten, new first grade and seventh grade students must
have the required physical examination. California physical exam forms and lists
